Electra Records 1957
Very rare recording of Teddy Charles.
This was one of Teddy Charles’ groups, and one that turned out to be very exciting. The much-needed ripping voice was Idress Sulieman’s, the subtle pulsing voice Teddy’s. The cooking was contributed neatly by Art Farmer and Jerry Segal. Mal Waldron is another thing: an excellent backgrounder, and a declarative voice in the foreground on solos.
