Lehua Records Stereo Recorded in Hawaii 1973
I found this vinyl in the garage at my house and let it sit for a few days until i tried it out (i couldn't resist the classy coconut heads). Suddenly my house began to shake with the thumping of a foot/bass drum, the music came in. I violently pulled off my feet and just had to dance, not any specific way, just move to the music. Albeit, i couldn't understand a darn thing they were saying, i loved it. Finally towards the end of my trip of celebration and love came the final song "kona moon". At that point my mother walked in the room coming home from work, stood there and remembered, "You father and I used to sing this song to each other." A bitter smile crawled across her lips and she tried to sing a few words, but she was cut short by silent tears. She turned around and began to make dinner, I was left thinking of the love lost between my parents that would cause her to cry, my father attempting to sing, and her heart accepting it like a hand accepting a sweet flower. Yes, bitter memories come with this music, but so does great love. by Usagi
