Ernestine Anderson is a legendary singer on par with Ella, Sarah and Carmen...a totally awesome catalog of classic sets on the Concord Jazz label such as this superb classic prove this beyond a doubt. "Big City" was my introduction to this masterful singer and what an introduction...I remember this masterpiece was up for a Grammy Award and hopefully won as every song here is singing at its very finest and no less than legendary Hank Jones on piano perfectly showcasing classic vocals from Ernestine which are peerless and wonderfully rich, deeply soulful and satisfying. Turn the lights down low with a chilled bottle of your favorite and be swept away by a singer with no peer!!!! Bravo Ernestine and thank you for so many great years and looking forward to many more!
