Roger Vadim film Les Liaisons Dangereuses (Dangerous Liaisons) which was released in 1960 featuring a soundtrack by Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers. It also featured French sax player Barney Wilen, who was a popular figure on both sides of the Atlantic, as well as Duke Jordan on piano and Jimmy Merritt on bass.
“The very first project for "Les Liaisons Dangereuses" was to record Thelonious Monk in Paris during a tour that in fact had to be cancelled. Part of the music was recorded by Monk with Sam Jones on bass, Art Taylor on drums, and Charlie Rouse and Barney Wilen on tenor saxes.
