Novus Records / RCA 1986 Cover shows heavy wear, vinyl is near mint
The talented pianist Adam Makowicz is joined by bassist Jamil Nasser, drummer Frank Gant and occasionally harpist Deborah Henson-Conant and vibraphonist Ed Saindon for frequently exciting versions of eight standards on this set. Makowicz, whose musical personality had continued to grow gradually since he first came to the United States a decade earlier, is in prime form during virtuosic and creative treatments of such songs as "All of Me," "What Is This Thing Called Love" and "Indiana." RCA is long overdue to reissue this fine album, along with its follow-up, Naughty Baby.
